The Favourite Camera Series – Brian

When asked these questions, Brian replied:

1. If you were to choose a favourite film camera from your collection which would it be?

2. How long have you owned this camera?

3. How did you come to own this camera?

4. What things do you enjoy most about this camera?

Hard to pick just one camera because I shoot everything from 35mm to 4×5.  In 35mm ‘street’ it would be my workhorse Canon EOS Rebel K-2 with the Canon EF 17-40 f4L lens. The body I bought at Value Village for $29.99 about 3 years ago and the lens I bought new afterwards. For 35mm ‘tripod’ it would be my Canon EF body with the Canon 50-300, both I bought new, the body in the 70’s and the lens in 1986. In medium format hands down it would be my Pentax 645N (I have the 645Z as well but never use it, it’s digital)  I’ve shot Pentax 645 since the 1990’s.  In 4×5 it’s my Linhoff Technikarden, that was a recent move up from another 4×5, so it’s less than a year now with me.  I have 6×9 and 6×12 roll film backs for it as well, so the versatility of large format is fantastic.
