A Circular Polarizing filter is used to reduce unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and increase saturation and contrast of the sky and other objects.
With the MRC nano coated B+W filter, a water droplet remains practically spherical. It rolls over the surface. A first-rate dirt and water-repellent effect occurs.
The new generation of Käsemann High Transmission (HTC) polarizing filters is fitted with a new polarizing foil which has higher translucency (transmission), yet still provides outstanding effectiveness. The filter extension factor is only 2 to 3, equivalent to approx. 1 to 1.5 f-stops.
