After numerous student requests, we have decided to put a couple of older 35mm film bodies into the Beau Photo Rental Department! The Beau Photo Rental Department strives to have the latest and greatest gear, but sometimes you don’t need or want a high megapixel count camera that shoots 30 frames per second. Slowing down and taking your time to shoot a 36 exposure roll of film can be very cathartic. As film photography has had a bit of a resurgence in the past few years, many people are looking to try out a film camera to see how they like it. As outright buying a film camera without knowing if you really like it or not can potentially cost you hundreds of dollars, we have added a few so you can rent one before you buy! The cameras we have added are/were some of the most popular hobbyist cameras of their day: the Canon AE-1 Program & Pentax K1000 SE. We have two Canon AE-1 bodies, one equipped with a 50mm f1.8, and another with a 50mm f1.4. The Pentax has an SMC 50mm f2 attached. We hope this can at least make it easier to get your feet wet with what film photography is all about!
$30 per day or weekend each, $400 Damage deposit required.
