Opening Night – Photographs of England – Trevor Martin

Join us for the opening night of our latest exhibit in the Beau Gallery here at the store!
Trevor Martin is a master photographic printer and photographer, and long-time resident of Vancouver. He began to photograph in 1960 in the UK and moved to Vancouver from Cornwall, England in 1969. Since he started, he has created a collection of thousands of silver print black and white photographs of England, Canada, and around the world.
Trevor has worked in photographic sales in the UK and Canada. In 1990, he opened a custom black and white photographic printing service in Vancouver for advanced amateurs and professionals. Many of his clients have appeared in books and magazines as well as exhibitions and private collections, including Library and Archives Canada. He rarely leaves home without a camera. Since arriving in Vancouver in 1969, his many excursions in the city with camera in hand has resulted in several thousand images whose numbers are added to each year. Over the course of his photographic career, he has also accumulated many images of the Canadian Prairies, his home county of Cornwall in England, the American Southwest as well as Paris, Rome, and Sicily.
This exhibition of 18 photographs are the first to be printed after a review of his work in England, and especially of his home county of Cornwall, that date from 1960’s to the 1990’s.
